Welcome to the "Waterland City"
Des Moines is a cute Puget Sound waterfront community endowed with all types of view and waterfront homes, condos, appealing shops and fine restaurants.  It is the only waterfront business district between Seattle and Tacoma. The population is about 30,000. It has six miles of Puget Sound waterfront and has a 900 slip full service city marina with wet and dry storage, a couple of boat launching facilities, fishing piers, public waterfront parks, promenades, beaches and scuba diving areas.

Des Moines Beach Park was recently awarded status on the National Register of Historical Places. The auditorium at Beach Park will be undergoing total renovation and will be used for future concerts, gatherings, events and celebrations.  Highline Community College is a big asset to Des Moines and there will be a future satellite campus for Central Washington University. The Highline School District is currently undertaking an ambitious plan to renovate most of the school buildings in Des Moines.

In this city you will find housing of every type and price range, from waterfront mansions to affordable apartments. There are also several nice retirement homes here. Currently over 600 condominium homes are proposed. This will include mixed use properties with retail and upscale view homes and more expected. A beautiful new business and industrial district is planned that could add up to 1,300 living wage jobs for Des Moines residents and people nearby.
